My involvement/contributions in Linux and Open Source:
- I have been a
Linux user and supporter since it's beginning in 1992.
Have used TAMU, SLS, Slackware, and
Red Hat. Heavy contributor to linux newsgroups and OS debugging.
- SCSI driver beta tester (Slackware) and contributor to the Linux
Documentation Project (1993)
- Ran community newsgroup server (on Linux) for Waterbury, CT. (1992-1993)
- Introduced and supported Linux into Bayer Corporation's IT infrastructure
for all sites in NC (1994-1999)
- Joined Red Hat Inc.
in 12/99 as a lead developer in Linux High-Availability/Clustering efforts.
Maintainer of piranha Open Source software. (1999)
- Participated in the Montreal Linux Showcase (1999)
- Linux High Availability technology and piranha activities (2000):
- Lead developer of piranha Open Source software. Author of piranha fos (Failover Services) and other features.
- Project Leader of Linux High Availability technology team at Red Hat.
- Co-creator of Red Hat's High Availability Server product
(the predecessor to their Advanced Server product), and author of most of
the product documentation.
- Webmaster of the Red Hat
High Availability Project website
- Published several Piranha/LVS/High-Availability Whitepapers
- Gave Linux HA presentations to key vendors and executive management.
- Co-administrator of the piranha mailing list
- Maintainer of the piranha package on
Freshmeat.net
- Started the ext3 beta test program and mailing-list
- Attended ALS (2000)
- Various package testing and evaluations. Wrote a PHP test package for
Red Hat QA.

- Set up Linux Apache and Samba server for a Pharmaceutical Startup.

- Performed Linux training for the MIS department at the
Town of North Haven, CT (2002).
- Continue to promote, install, evaluate, and help companies
incorporate Linux into their infrastructure. Participated/contributed to
Freshmeat,
Advogato,
Slashdot, and ftp.uk.linux.org.
Supportive contributions to copyleft, GNU, and other places.
Generally annoy people on #linux and mailing lists. Continue to
own and operate my own Linux systems. Continue to stay informed of
Linux activity, events, and news.
