I am an IT Professional and Software Engineer with over 15 years
experience, much of it in networking. I'm an accomplished
project manager and infrastructure architect, and have been a
core engineer of major software products for several corporations.
I've worked for startups and for industry
leaders like
The Walt Disney Company,
Red Hat,
Bayer Pharmaceuticals,
and
Digital Equipment. Although I'm experienced in many
platforms, I have a passion for
Linux and Open Source, which I've been involved
with since it's start in 1992.
Here is a brief list of employment highlights:
- Lead developer at Red Hat on High Availability software. Author of
piranha FOS services, and helped to create the Linux "High Availability Server" product.
- IT Project Manager, Infrastructure Architect, and Security lead for all networks and servers in the Biologicals division of Bayer Corporation.
- Software Engineer for Digital Equipment Corp.
One of the core developers of DECmessageQ (aka BEAmessageQ).
- Did VAX/VMS support and security work for the US Postal Service
- Systems Manager at MCI
- Wrote communications software for interactive Cable TV, and for process control.
- Once a corporate partner in a small startup that grew from 5 to 30 people.
